MR.FÚTBOL
Football technical training methodology
Our own method so that every player touches the ball more, gets more corrections and really improves.
01 · Philosophy
Adding to the club, not competing with it
The player already has a team, a coach and competition. What they need is to make better use of the time they spend improving.
That’s why MR Fútbol doesn’t create teams or play in leagues: our model is complementary to the club. The player comes from their team, trains with us and goes back better.
Our scoreboard isn’t the weekend’s result: it’s the player’s progress. The question behind every session is: what does this player need to be better six months from now?
02 · Structure
4 specific blocks in every session
Each session lasts 60 minutes and always follows the same structure, with a common thread and a clear technical objective:
- 1. Warm-up game linked to the objective: the player starts working straight away on what we’re going to improve.
- 2. Passing, body shape and control: the technical base, with lots of repetitions in different directions and on different surfaces.
- 3. 1v1, 1v2 y 2v1: dribbling and decision-making against real opponents: measure, commit, adjust the distance, feint and accelerate.
- 4. Finishing: we vary the way of finishing so the player has resources in front of goal.
One exercise for the whole group, explaining what we’re aiming for and why. No stations rotating every few minutes.
03 · Correction
Individual correction and precise feedback
Technical training means knowing how to correct. Saying “again” or “better” isn’t enough: the coach spots the error, understands where it comes from (the standing foot, the body shape, the contact surface, the moment of looking up) and gives a specific instruction that the player can apply in the next repetition.
To make that possible we work with small groups: up to 10 players with 2 coaches, a ratio of 5 players per coach. Each player gets individual attention and correction in every session.
04 · Both feet
Mirrored work: both feet
Everything worked on one side is repeated on the other. Control, passing, dribbling, 1v1 moves and finishing with the strong foot and the other one.
A player who masters both feet is less predictable, has more options and plays faster. It’s one of the clearest signs that a school truly works on technique.
We explain it in detail in how to play with both feet.
05 · Coaches
Coaches trained in technical football
The method only works if whoever applies it knows about technique. Our team is made up of coaches with UEFA licences, degrees and master’s degrees in youth football, under the technical direction of Rodrigo, a UEFA Pro licensed coach.
They all work with the same methodology, the same session structure and the same correction criteria, so that every player receives the same level of demand and attention.
